PHILADELPHIA -- Teuvo Teravainen scored late in the third period for the Carolina Hurricanes, who won their third straight game with a 3-2 victory against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Monday.

Michael Bunting sent a puck from the side of the net to Teravainen above the hash marks, where his one-timer beat Carter Hart with 3:47 left in the third.

"Puck was bouncing around there and 'Bunts' found it and nice play by him," Teravainen said. "He saw me open in the middle and I just shot it at the net."

Teravainen's goal was his fourth in the past two games and his second straight game-winning goal.

"He's coming up big when we need it, that's for sure," Carolina coach Rod Brind'Amour said. "We were sitting on our heels there for the third period and not playing very well at all. And then all of a sudden we get one chance, and that's right now the guy you want it on his stick because he's finding a way to put it in the net."

Bunting and Stefan Noesen each had a goal and an assist for Carolina (6-4-0), which had lost three straight (outscored 16-8) prior to its winning streak. Frederik Andersen made 26 saves, including 12 in the third period.

"I thought our game in Tampa (a 3-0 loss on Oct. 24) was much better than this game," Brind'Amour said. "But we didn't win that one and we won this one. Sometimes it goes that way. There were things I liked about this game, and there was a lot I didn't so we've got to keep getting better."

Owen Tippett and Garnet Hathaway scored for Philadelphia (4-4-1), which has lost four of its past five (1-3-1). Hart made 30 saves.

"We slowly got into it and we played better as the game went on," Flyers coach John Tortorella said. "I thought we made some really good offensive plays in the third to create scoring chances, not only off the rush but also within the forecheck. Andersen, I didn't think he looked that good early on with a couple of the goals he did let in, but he stood on his head in the third period.

"I'm not going to stand up here all year long and talk about moral victories, but I've got to remember where we are as far as the organization and the process that we're at. I'm certainly not going to boo the team. I'm going to help them."

CAR@PHI: Noesen puts it home from his knees

Noesen gave the Hurricanes a 1-0 lead at 3:11 of the first period. Andrei Svechnikov had the primary assist on the play, his first point in his second game since returning from knee surgery in March.

Tippett tied the game 1-1 at 15:09. He intercepted a pass from Martin Necas at center ice before scoring off a return pass from Sean Couturier.

Hathaway gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead at 18:23, scoring with a backhand from the crease. It was his first goal for Philadelphia since signing as a free agent July 1.

"We've got to learn to hold onto points," Hathaway said. "I think that's something we learned the hard way tonight and something we'll focus on."

Bunting tied the game 2-2 with a power-play goal at 9:02 of the second period.

The Flyers had three power plays after Bunting tied the game but failed to capitalize on them. They finished 0-for-5 with seven shots on goal on the power play during the game.

"The penalty kill was the difference," Brind'Amour said. "We did a good job. [Andersen] made a couple saves, there was one on the backside I remember. At the end of the day, that's the difference in the hockey game."
