There are a total of 12 Treasure Maps in God of War (2018) for PlayStation and PC. Following the Treasure Maps rewards you with a lot of hack silver, legendary materials, and enchantments. This guide goes over the locations of the treasure maps, and where the dig spot is that ultimately gives you the treasure. Digging up all 12 of the dig spots will reward you with the "Treasure Hunter" trophy.

None of these mapsare missable; you can go back to them at any time. However, some of the zones require favors from Brok / Sindri to enter those zones! Make sure to do their favors if you find a zone you cannot enter. Be warned that there may be spoilers below if you are less than five hours into the game.

Creation Island

Creation Island Treasure

  • Pre-requisite: Complete A New Destination

After the water recedes a second time, head to the Iron Cove. Upon docking the boat, walk forward and the map will be sitting in the center of the path.

The dig spot is on the other side of the Lake of Nine, on the Buri's Storeroom island. After docking the boat at the front of the island, head through the gate on the left. Continue to the end of the path. Before reaching the water wheel at the back of the area, there is a bit of land on the left that Kratos can walk on. Right in the centre of this part of the land is the dig spot.

Dead and Bloated

The Dead and Bloated treasure map can be found deep within the Volunder Mines. Right after encountering the Soul Eater, follow it further in and hug the wall to the right. At the back is a chain Kratos can climb down. The Treasure Map is on the floor next to a large wooden wheel and some explodable rocks.

The dig spot for this treasure map is found at the Cliffs of The Raven. Head to the very back of this area to find the corpse of a dead troll: next to its belly is the dig spot.

Don't Blink

The treasure map is located in Fafnir's Storeroom. This area is naturally traveled to during the favorFafnir's Hoard. After entering the area through the side entrance, head to the central pillar of the room. The map is located next to the body resting against this pillar.

The dig spot can be found in the Foothills, specifically at the very end before you enter The Mountain. Continue along the path until Kratos has to jump a gap. After crossing the gap, scale the wall to the left. At the top, walk left just a few steps and the dig spot can be found at the edge of the cliff.

Finder's Fee

  • Pre-requisite: Complete A New Destination

This treasure map can only be found after the water has dropped a second time. Once that has happened, head to the Forgotten Caverns. Upon docking the boat, head forward, past the Mystic Gateway. At the junction, turn left and you will find a chest. Just in front of that chest is the map.

The dig site can be found in the NorthriStronghold, located in the north west of the map. The stronghold can be accessed through the Ruins of the Ancient. Halfway through the area is a room with a large gate and a couple of water wheels. There is a dock next to the gate, and just up the small flight of stairs is a climbable wall. Upon scaling it and reaching the top, the dig site can be found against the back wall.

Hunter's Kingdom

Hunter's Kingdom Treasure

The Hunter's Kingdom Treasure Map is found in the Lookout Tower area. Upon docking the boat, hit the mechanism with Kratos' axe to remove the spikes blocking your way. At the top, hit the mechanism again to remove the next set of spikes. Climb the next wall; upon reaching the top, take a left and hop off the edge. In the middle of the area is the map.

The dig spot can be found in Veithurgard, on the mainland. In the back left corner of this area is a large door. To the left of this door is a lore marker, and to the right of that marker is the dig spot.

Island of Light

Island of Light Treasure

You can find this Treasure Map once the waters have receded for a second time during The Magic Chisel quest. It is found in the Mason's Channel. Dock the boat to the left of the two statues of Oarsmen. Stick to the left side of the beach, and the map can be found on the ground.

The dig spot is found at the Light Elf Outpost, in the northwest of the Lake on Nine. Work your way through unlocking all the parts of this outpost using the light crystals and chains; eventually, there will be a junction where Kratos can either climb up a wall or use a chain to access a lower level. Take the chain, which will lead you to the dig spot, which happens to be just next to it.

Kneel Before Thor!

Kneel Before Thor! Treasure

This map can be found in the Landsuther Mines, which is South of The River Pass but accessed via the Lake of Nine. You will come here by undertaking one of Brok and Sindri's favours. From Sindri's shop, head through the door and into the mines. Continue along the path, and Kratos and Atreus will eventually have to crouch through a crevice. This will lead intoa fairly open area, with a few different paths.

After exiting the crouch animation, walk straight ahead and Kratos will be given a prompt to climb down (if you have been here before). If this is your first time in the Landsuther Mines, there is a climbable wall on the back left side that will allow Kratos to break the floor. Once on the lower level, head left as you reach the climbable wall at the back to find a lift. Upon riding it up, the map will be located at the back of the room.

The dig spot is found at the Lookout Tower, which can be entered by boat, and is located just below Tyr's Bridge. Climb up the left wall and jump across the gap, using the mechanism to remove the spikes blocking the way. Once again, climb up the wall; once reaching the top climb up another wall to your right. At the top is a zipline that needs to be taken. At the bottom is a Jotnar Shrine; just to the right is the dig spot, which is located in-between two sets of rocks.

Njord's Oarsmen

Njord's Oarsmen Treasure

This map can be found in the Northri Stronghold, which is located in the north west of the map. At the end of the area is a large, open room with a boat in the middle. At the front right of the boat is a walkway Kratos can jump down to. If you jump down and then turn towards the boat, the walkway will lead to a section of the boat's wall that can be destroyed. Swing Kratos' axe at it to find the map inside.

The dig spot can be found in The Mason's Channel, which is located right next to the Council of Valkyries. To get to the dig spot, dock on the left side of the shore, the side which has a mystic gateway right next to the shore. From here, head to the back of the area and scale the climbable wall. Following that, shimmy across the gap, and Sindri's Shop will be there. Instead of continuing forward, there is a small wall Kratos can climb directly opposite where you can interact with Sindri. At the top, take a right; continue through the path and the dig spot is on the edge of the cliff.

The Boat Captain's Key

The Boat Captain's Key Treasure

Upon your first visit to Stone Falls, you can find the treasure map "The Boat Captain’s Key" right on shore. It is an easter egg to the previous titles.

The location of the treasure is over on the Isle of Death. Climb back up to the very top where the original shore was and look for a broken ship with a hollowed-out hull on the top of this area. Enter underneath the ship to find an area to dig where the treasure is.

The Historian

The Historian Treasure

This map can be found in the Ruins of the Ancient. Instead of carrying on through the passageway, dock the boat on the shore to the left. Vault over the fallen pillar and the map can be found in the centre, on the floor.

The dig spot for this treasure map can be found in Fafnir's Storeroom. From Sindri's shop, continue through the area, heading deeper into the storeroom. Once in the open field, take the left flight of stairs. At the top, next to the left brazier is the dig spot.

The Last Place They'd Look

The Last Place They'd Look Treasure

This map can be found in The Mountain. Use the mystic gateway that takes Kratos to the summit of the mountain. Head back towards the way you came up to the summit on your first visit. About halfway along the path, Kratos will be able to climb down on the left side. Walk along the left side of the path until you get a prompt. At the bottom, head through the double doors. Take a right, and continue down, past the room where you fought the ancient. Head through the crouch space and the map will be on the floor.

The dig spot can be found at the Council of the Valkyries. It is located in the area with the eight thrones. The dig spot is on the left side, located between the second and third throne.

Turtles Tribute

advertisem*nt

Turtles Tribute Treasure

  • Pre-requisite: Shock Arrows

The map for Turtles Tribute is found in the Witch's Cave, but cannot be reached until you've acquired Shock arrows. Once you have, return to the Witch's Cave and head to the lower level of the area, the level with the Nornir Chest. To the right of the chest is a small waterfall with a Shatter Crystal underneath it. Pick it up, and throw it at the wall of red sap on the left of the Nornir chest, before shooting it with Atreus. The map is in the room above, right in front of the Hidden Chamber of Odin.

The treasure location is not far away. Stay in the Witch's Cave and pick up another shatter crystal from the same place. This time, head to the top level and destroy the wall of red sap just to the left of the lift. Climb up the well at the back, and it will lead back to the front of the Witch's Home. Head along the stone path and stop near the turtle's left front foot, right next to two large stones with a small log between them. Inspect a small mossy stone near it to be given the prompt to dig up the treasure.
