Love a list, me... this one featuring the "best" of the 1990s.

Yup, they've similar for the previous five decades:
Pitchfork's top 100 albums of the 70s
Pitchfork's top 200 albums of the 80s
Pitchfork's top 150 albums of the 90s
Pitchfork's top 200 albums of the 00s
Pitchfork's top 200 albums of the 10s
I started bingeing them about a year ago. Did the 70s and about a third of the 80s before sort-of tailing off last November(ish). There's some good stuff in all of those lists though, and I mean to get through the lot sooner rather than later.

I think I've got a grand total of 8 of those, and not a lot of enthusiasm for the other 142 (or for a couple of the 8, if I'm brutally honest)

I've loved or merely listened to about 50 of those albums. Predicted OK Computer at number one, was two out. Not going to say the list is rubbish, I think it just reflects Pitchfork being an American outfit. Actually, I think it's pretty rubbish.

I counted about 35 that I bought or taped. Some good albums (Boredoms, Autechre, Bjork, MBV) but it doesn't totally reflect my 90s, I suppose.

Pitchfork seems to try to hard sometimes, and I'll have a further look tomorrow, but Music Has the Right to Children and In an Aeroplane Over the Sea are wonderful albums that many won't have picked up.

If it wasn't for Pitchfork I'd have missed so many tip-top bands over the years... NMH, Fleet Foxes, Shearwater et al.

And every single year for as long as I can recall.
Someone remind me what the British equivalent of Pitchfork was called... Name escapes me now.

No cypress hill black Sunday or Pantera Vulgar display, but two albums by Fiona Apple? Not for me, Clive.

That list is b*llocks and is written by children attempting provocation. Hole in the top ten? No. Two Janet Jacksons in the top 20? No.
And again I say NO sir.
At least two albums I gave away for being so bad.
(Props for giving Bjork’s mental post pop albums some attention, and for not limiting itself to the usual white indie boys - or to good albums for that matter.)
Triggered.
